All these great ideas and inspiration constantly popping in that noggin of yours so, you’re looking for a way to capture and organize those thoughts before they slip away.

I’ve come across several tools that I have tried to record those ideas and keep them organized, but most of them always seemed to be lacking in some form or fashion. Over the last couple of years, I think I have narrowed it down to these 4 tools that work for me. Give them a try and let me know what you think.

1 Workflowy

Workflowy is a web-based tool that allows the user to create personal to-do lists, team project collaboration, take notes, and organize ideas, in a zoomable and searchable format. With capabilities to expand and collapse bulletpoints, and the ability to tag and search specific terms, this makes Workflowy one of the best, in my opinion, list making apps available for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices. Give it a try, and if you sign up using this link, Workflowy will give you 2x the list making capabilities for FREE!

2 Coggle.It

Coggle.it is a web-based mind mapping tool that lets the user create colorful and useful mind maps that can easily document multiple thoughts and ideas in a way that closely mimics how the brain works in storing and retrieving information for many people. As a visual creative, I love to use mind maps for a lot of what I do and combining it with Workflowy it give me a powerful boost in my creativity.
